Lakeview at Fontana Spa Resort is the most enchanting, rustic mountain inn and spa I have ever been to! The perfect place to disconnect and reconnect with yourself and nature. Lakeview at Fontana is nestled in the mountains of good old North Carolina. This Mediterranean style inn gives you the feel of being in the mountains of France or Italy. So peaceful and relaxing. Makes you never want to leave. Plus this place has my favorite bathtub!

So my husband and I decided to take a little romantic getaway to come here. The perfect place to do so.
The second we got out of the car I immediately felt relaxed. You hear nothing but birds chirping, soft relaxing music and the breeze blowing though the trees. We had a warm welcome, she showed us around the resort and to our perfect, cute bungalow. ❤
We settled in and went exploring the beautiful grounds. So many different flowers, lush green grass, forest all around you and butterflies everywhere.
When I say butterflies everywhere, I’m mean everywhere! Like a sanctuary!
We made it back just in time for cocktail hour. Every day at 5pm!
They had wine and sangria, cheese, crackers, olives and more. All perfectly paired with the wine. The most relaxing glass of wine I’ve had in a long time. This inn is just perfect! It’s not a resort that’s overwhelming with a lot of people roaming around. Its an intimate resort with just the right amount of people to still make you feel as if you were there alone. 
After cocktail hour we went back to our bungalow, cooked a nice dinner and relaxed before bed.
The next morning was just delightful! I hate waking up in the mornings but, here made me excited to wake up early. We walked over to the café where every morning they would have French pressed coffee, muffins, fruit and more. There’s even yoga.
The café also has a cute lounge area with a nice fireplace where you can curl on up and read a great book. 
Later that morning we decided to go for a hike so we checked out the hiking trail on the grounds. Not a bad trail for a leg day. lol
For a great hike off the resort check out Alarka Falls. I love waterfalls and this is a good one not far from the resort. A 1.0mi, moderate hike through the thick woods surrounding the falls. 
After our hike in the hot, humid August temperatures a dip in the pool was just what we needed!
Later that afternoon was our scheduled full body and hot stones massage. I cant tell you enough how amazing that was! 100% relaxed! They have so many great spa treatments to check out. Guess that’s another perfect reason to go back.
Ok, now the tub talk!!
This was an OMG moment! So beautiful and breathtaking. The Cloud 9 Treetop Cabana is really an unforgettable experience. This secluded cabana sits on the hillside above the resort. We had aromatic salts to chose from, champagne, a gorgeous view of Fontana Lake and that oversized tub! I bet this cabana is stunning during sunset. Now I really have to go back! This dream tub is a must again! 
So relaxing, nice breeze, calming music, birds chirping and a great view. What more can you ask for.
Such tranquility and just the perfect place to soak our cares away.
It was sad saying goodbye to that amazing cabana but, we were getting hungry and wanted to go check out Bryson City.

We decided to go have wine and pizza at Great Smoky Mountain Winery. This place has great wood fired pizzas, good wine and beer along with a pretty view. 
After dinner headed back to the resort to catch the sunset. My favorite part of the day!
So beautiful! Never have I seen a sunset I didn’t like.
